This single block Chardonnay, from our high-density vines, showcases vibrant notes of white
flowers and peach. The sun-filled ripening conditions of the vintage impart a savoury, chalky
texture, while still preserving the mineral freshness and delicate nuances characteristic of
Main Ridge.
The 2022 Trahere Pinot Noir is the first wine crafted solely from our high-density Spedding
Vineyard, a blend of three exceptional clones—Abel, Pommard, and Calera—grown across
the 1.48 ha site. These clones thrived under the ideal 2022 harvest conditions, resulting in
a wine of remarkable complexity and sophistication. Layers of vibrant red cherry, bramble
spice, and blackberry surround silky tannins, driving a fruit intensity and structure that
lingers beautifully on the palate.
Aromas of macadamia and white blossom pave the way for this beautifully fine and classic Chardonnay. There is a mineral core that is the foundation from beginning to end. This first Trahere has a wonderful colour and an alluring floral perfume with rich red fruits – strawberry and cherry, together with gamey, earthy and spice undertones. On the palate,
there is great concentration, fine detail, and texture. It’s complex and intense and has silky fine tannins and a graphite like edge that adds to the detail and precision. There is a seamless and lingering aspect to this wine that adds great allure and sets it apart.
Spice and floral notes dominate the elegant nose while a soft flint edge invites you to dive deep into a complex structure with hints of oyster shell and cumquat. A pretty and alluring wine with typical linear acidity full of delicate offerings.
This wine has a fragrant nose of lemon sorbet intertwined with honeysuckle and fresh pastry. A focused palate carries flavors of lemon citrus, marzipan, olive brine and barley. Refined and energetic, the palate finishes persistent with fine mineral and chalky phenolics.
This is the first time that the Mills vineyard Chardonnay has been elevated to a single vineyard release. The wine has an elegant lift of citrus/lemon, with hints of melon, kiwi fruit and spice. A sultry palate that is round, mouth filling and elegant. Characters of melon and lime zest criss cross the palate, together with pithy citrus notes and an alluring fine phenolic, mineral edge on the finish.
An introduction of glazed cherry, rhubarb string and bramble spice are evident on the nose. Dried red berries, plum and strawberry glide across the palate along with blood orange and plum pudding. This is met by a delicate red wine jus that leads into a savoury edge of leather, cinnamon spice and finely detailed tannins.
Luscious black cherry, cranberry and raspberry meld nicely with cardamon spice. Stewed rhubarb, baked cherry and olive tapenade are all in harmony as velvet like tannins provide length and texture to the finish.
Spiced blood plum, violet and blackcurrant weave their way through the multiple layers of chalky and succulent tannins that control the palate. A delightful expression of a different Coolart Road with F block taking the driver seat.
This wine has a beautiful fine mineral textural drive across the palate with a savoury edge and a pop of sweet perfumed frangipani and spice that lingers and provides balance and a generous mouthfeel.
Stone fruit of white nectarine paired with baked lemon tart and cinnamon spice. This is a wine that delivers minerality and complexity with a creamy marscapone edge thrown in the mix. Fresh, long and complete with a soft phenolic grip that lingers for some time.
Carefully selected parcels from our Main Ridge sites meld together to show clarity of the ‘Up the Hill” subregion of Mornington. Characters of strawberry and bright red fruits are accompanied by five spice and cedar. Fine graphite like tannin carry through the palate to a delicate soft finish.
Baked cherry and a floral lift jump from the glass. Compote, ripe cranberry and raspberry carry through on the palate with a savoury backbone driven by graphite and clove spice. Earthy tannins bind the wine together, finishing with length and persistence.
Pear and guava notes add to the lively expression of fruit of this wine and the chalky fine undertones of ginger and clove spice. This wine is driven and textural and is a great expression of the Gris style.
A refined nose of lemon sorbet, pink grapefruit and frangipanni flowers. Some underlying shortbread crust. The palate shows flavours of pink grapefruit and orange pith, preserved lemon and ginger. The vibrant and refreshing nature of this wine leaves you with a lovely moreish, savory, saline finish.
Delicate on the nose and subtle on the palate, lemon barley and grapefruit pith drive the fruit profile while complimenting the savoury nature of this wine. Bright and soft, a style that welcomes any season.
An inviting perfumed nose of black forest cake, red fruits, florals, and creaming soda. Vibrant red cherry, raspberry compote and chinotto fill the luscious palate. This is followed by underlying baking spice to give a lovely savory backbone. Well-integrated powdery tannins give structure and length.
The lifted flint and bright citrus on the nose compliment the nutty and brioche characters that are displayed on the palate. A generous mouthfeel from an extended time in bottle on lees is well aligned with the crisp natural acidity driving the wine.
This wine started with a question in the winery; what would the best blend of the wines we selected for the McCutcheon, Judd and Wallis single vineyard releases look like? A blend that was greater than the parts, a best of the best, if you will, of our Main Ridge Chardonnay.
An exotic nose of curry leaf and spice with hints of honeydew and flint form the backbone of this multiple site Chardonnay. While the acid is tight, it creates a strong drive through the palate that is met by bursts of citrus peel with a fine finish.
A floral lift of white blossom and jasmine on the nose sync in beautifully with the hints of ginger and tangerine rind on the palate. Citrus notes continue to drive this wine with pings of acidity and a crunch on the finish that opens and softens while the wine breathes in the glass
Flinty upfront, this well-rounded Wallis chardonnay has ripe citrus, lemon curd, hints of almond, fresh mandarin and green mango traversing the palate.
Like a "frangipani opening up to kiss the salty air." This Judd Chardonnay is fresh and lifted with hints of green paw paw, wet stone, lemon and a mineral drive from start to finish! A wine that will continue to impress and age well.
Lovely red fruits, lifted spice, aniseed and strawberry combine with a herbal lavender lift, from start to finish on this wine. There are hints of white pepper and sage that join in with the lingering mineral and sultry tannins to end the journey.
Delicate notes of rose petal, spice, mushroom and forest floor are a warm welcome to this wine. This is a brooding style of pinot noir with flavours of liquorice, cedar, exotic spice, dark cherry and forest fruits traversing the palate. The tannins play well with these characters offering balance, drive and a persuasive grip that is typical of the Coolart Road site.
This McCutcheon comes from the Ridge block of the vineyard sitting at nearly 200m elevation. The cool breeze coming over the ridge keeps the micro-climate within the vines cool and helps maintain the beautiful crisp and natural acidity complementing the evocative flavours of this wine.
